Paul Willms:  Born and raised in Terrace B.C.  Paul received his first guitar at 16 but didn't pick it up until he was 18 and has not put it down since.  Raised on gospel and country, Paul played in rock bands until the defining moment when his cousin gave him tickets to Stevie Ray Vaughn.  From then on it was nothin' but the blues.  Throwing himself into the likes of Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters Paul soaked up everything he could lay his hands on.

Moving down South to Victoria B.C. Paul formed various blues bands until releasing and album under the name TAXI.  On their c.d. release, TAXI was informed that they had won a spot on the Rocktoria compilation c.d. (100.3 the Q).  From there Paul, with his slow burning soulful sound, has been featured twice with the likes of Etta James ,Robert Cray and Robin Trower on the north American syndicated show Blues Deluxe, out of Arlington Texas.  The CD was also rated an impressive 8 out of 10 by ROLLING STONE.com.  An avid singer songwriter, Paul has gone on to win the Vancouver Island Original Music Competition and take first place in the province-wide Shaw Star Discovery Compitition with judges from EMI, House of Blues and Sony Records.

Paul has jumped into the international scene with a first place win in the Song of the Year competition, beating out thousands of entries for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, which is judged purely on songwriting and lyrics.  With judges ranging from Capitol Records to Norah Jones to Universal Music manager Stephanie Wright, who has worked with Sting, U2, The Black Eyed Peas and Stevie Wonder.  Paul's song About You can be heard on his new album, due to hit shelves in the spring of 2006.

"The guitar prowess and throaty vocals of Taxi axeslinger Paul Willms are reminiscent of early Stevie Ray Vaughan, which can only mean good things."
